Npower merges marketing roles
Marketing, Wednesday, 13 October 2004, 12:00am,
Npower has restructured its marketing department with the merger of its customer marketing and brand marketing functions.
Kevin Peake, current head of brand for the utility giant, will become head of customer marketing and will lead the merged entity. He will be responsible for all promotional activity.
Peake currently manages all Npower's sponsorship activity but the firm is considering splitting his role.
Nigel Richardson, customer marketing director, has seen his role made redundant and is considering other opportunities within the RWE-owned firm.
The restructure has been sparked by a desire to centralise customer contacts and will see Npower emphasise customer marketing activity.
Last week, Marketing revealed Npower was planning a price war with British Gas in the run-up to Christmas.
