Ozone scoops PHA-UK account
PR Week UK, Friday, 01 October 2004, 12:00am,
The Pulmonary Hypertension Association UK has appointed Ozone to handle PR and medical education work.
Ozone is aiming to boost awareness of pulmonary hypertension – which causes arteries in the lungs to narrow, leading to back pressure of the heart and the reduction of oxygen to the tissues of the body – among public and healthcare professionals.
PHA-UK estimates there are 4,000 PH sufferers in the UK, with a further 4,000 undiagnosed sufferers. Chairman Iain Armstrong said: ‘Symptoms can be similar to diseases as simple as asthma. Many sufferers are, therefore, misdiagnosed before being correctly diagnosed as suffering from PH.’
Ozone wants to boost awareness of PH and treatment centres among professionals such as asthma nurses.
