Opinion: Leader - Golin Harris wins PRWeek brief
Gidon Freeman, gidon.freeman@haynet.com, PR Week UK, Friday, 17 September 2004, 12:00am,
PRWeek is now in a position to announce the outcome of a review into its own PR.
The importance of avoiding conflicts of interest meant the agencies were chosen not by magazine staff, but by Haymarket head of comms Alastair Macdonald. And it is hugely satisfying that for the two firms on the final shortlist - Resonate and Golin Harris - it was plainly business worth winning, despite a budget rather smaller than our normal page-lead stories.
There have been plenty of editorials over the years extolling best practice in agency/client relations, so it is appropriate to restate the guidelines we expect to be observed. The client is always right; overservicing is essential to contract renewal and regular lunches are a must. Congratulations to Golin and thanks to Resonate.
