INTERACTIVE: Travel Select

A difficult one to review; a form-packed home page with the ability, seemingly, to do everything. It suggests there’s a great deal to this site.

The title bar proclaims ’Low-cost flight reservations’. However, the

site also allows me to reserve Eurostar places, hire cars, convert

currency and plan holidays.

This array of functions is a suite of well put together applications

that allows the user to plan and book most aspects of their holiday from

one site.

Technically, the site does work well - I found only one or two problems

(javascript errors), despite the abundance of secure transactions,

database querying and form data flying around.

However, I have to take issue with the architecture and design of the

site. Perhaps once the user has become accustomed to the forms on the

home page, the site will be a delight to use. Unfortunately, it is also

likely to discourage the first-time user.

Despite this, Travel Select is a powerful site with great potential.
