Dockers extends online presence via European site
Ben Carter, Marketing, Thursday, 18 December 2003, 12:00am,
Dockers, the Levi Strauss-owned casualwear brand, is to launch its first pan-European web site early next year to raise awareness of its clothing range across the Continent.
Dockers Europe has hired digital agency AKQA London to develop the site, which will be built in five languages.
The site will initially act as a brand-building platform, showcasing the Dockers range, but will not have e-commerce functionality.
Dockers' current web sites cater to the US, Canadian and Latin American markets. Dockers Europe marketing director Nick Vance said the site would enable it to target a new customer base and "build the brand positioning, which is more street-casual than the US sites".
Dockers will support the launch of the web site using targeted marketing, created with its retail and distribution partners.
The site will showcase the Dockers Made in History and Premium Trend collections as they launch next year.
