Lastminute.com in review of trade and consumer PR
Ravi Chandiramani, PR Week UK, Friday, 14 November 2003, 12:00am,
Lastminute.com is reviewing its consumer and trade PR account as it seeks to build its image as a general provider of lifestyle products rather than just a travel retailer.
The review puts Biss Lancaster Euro RSCG on alert, having held the account for the past two years.
The late deals specialist wants to boost its standing as a provider of restaurant bookings, theatre tickets and gifts, as well as a reseller of travel products.
The task involves media relations and events targeted at the consumer, travel and trade press. It is understood the internet business also wants to develop more sponsorship opportunities with the print media.
Lastminute.com UK marketing director Vijay Solanki will oversee the review, which will involve marketing executive Fliss White and corporate comms manager Lucy Dare.
Biss Lancaster picked up the account at the end of 2001.
The company’s financial PR account, held by Hudson Sandler, is unaffected by the review.
