H&K Portugal to launch Hewlett- Packard PR blitz
Ivan Castano, PR Week UK, Tuesday, 16 September 2003, 12:00am,
Hill & Knowlton Portugal has scooped a contract to handle PR for tech giant Hewlett-Packard, beating Porter Novelli and Burson-Marsteller in a pitch for the account.
H&K is handling marketing and corporate communications for HP’s four operating divisions, including Imaging & Printing, Personal Systems, Enterprise Systems and HP Services, according to H&K managing director Nadim Habib.
H&K will handle a combination of media relations, event management and sponsorship activities.
This week the agency promoted an event to publicise HP’s Intel Itanium 2 processor.
The agency is also planning to send journalists to Greece for another event to introduce HP’s Color Olympics suite of digital and imaging products.
A seven-strong team, led by Habib, reports to HP marketing heads at each division.
