World PR Festival highlights will be available on web
PR Week UK, Wednesday, 11 June 2003, 12:00am,
The Italian Federation of PR, together with fellow organisers the Global Alliance for PR and Communications Management and European PR body CERP, claims it had to close registration request lines earlier than anticipated for the event, scheduled to take place in Rome from 19 to 21 June.
Organisers of the upcoming World PR Festival are planning to make highlights of the event available on the web after being forced to turn attendees away due to an excess of demand.
Festival bosses are now proposing to allow those unable to attend to access conference sessions on the internet via a videostreaming service.
The online service will provide both audio and video highlights via the festival website (www.worldprfestival.org) and organiser websites (www.globalpr.org; www.ferpi.it).
‘This is probably the first time this service has been offered to students and PR practitioners around the world,’ said Italian PR Federation president Toni Muzi Falconi.
‘They will be able to look at the festival programme, decide what interests them and click to view and listen.’
The festival is set to focus on PR ethics and will officially launch the industry’s first common global ethics protocol, developed this year by the Global Alliance (PRWeek, 14 April).
