INTERNATIONAL: MMK wins the top award at PR Report's gala ceremony

BERLIN: Last week saw the first awards ceremony for PRWeek's German sister-title PR Report. Close to 300 entries were recorded, with winners announced at a gala dinner in Berlin attended by 450 German PROs.
PR Campaign of the Year went to the 'Vote - No-one will hear if you have no voice' campaign, run by MMK for client Universal Music.
The ECC Kohtes Klewes-sponsored award for PR Professional of the Year went to head of group comms and policy at BMW Richard Gaul.
The Ahrens & Behrent Award for PR Team of the Year went to Fujitsu Siemens Computers. The News Aktuell Agency of the year prize went to Fink & Fuchs Public Relations AG.
The Ketchum Award for Internal Comms and Change Management was won by the 'Experience Extras' staff programme for Landesbank Baden-Wurttemburg.
The Hering Schuppener award for Financial Comms and M&A comms went to the Haubrok PR team behind the flotation of REpower Systems.
The PR Newswire-sponsored Award for Healthcare was picked up by Hoschke & Consorten for their 'From Bitter Pill to Recipe for Success' work for Doc Morris, while MMK won the The Use of Images and Graphics in Press Work award for 'Absolut Hair We Are', for Absolut.
Text + pr picked up a special award at the event for their non-profit work on behalf of the Kunsthalle Bremen. This was for PR that they undertook for an exhibition entitled 'Van Gogh: Fields'.
The DARR-sponsored prize for the PR Newcomer of the Year went to Michael Sodar of Fischer Appelt in Dusseldorf.
There were a clutch of multiple award winners. BMW Group picked up the Edelman Award for Consumer Marketing for its work on the new mini, while MMK's Vote campaign also won the FischerAppelt Award for Public Affairs
Finally, the Publicis Award for PR Student of the Year was won by Stephan Volmer, a graduate of the University of Luneberg.
