Last week Lunn Poly scrapped deposits to kick-start sluggish bookings, which appear to be adversely affected by fears of a war in Iraq.
Summer bookings for the big four operators between Christmas and January 19 totalled 66,000 - down 14% year-on-year. Early bookings are important for operators because they enable them to plan capacity during the peak holiday months of July and August.
