Ulrika TV presenter hires celeb PR firm
Gidon Freeman, PR Week UK, Wednesday, 30 October 2002, 12:00am,
The TV presenter at the centre of allegations made by Ulrika Johnson in her autobiography has hired media and entertainment PR specialist Taylor Herring Communications to handle media strategy in connection with recent events.
THC founder James Herring is understood to have been in talks with the TV presenter, who we cannot name for legal reasons, for the last 48 hours.
The talks are understood to have involved representatives of the presenter's legal team, and are believed follow a series of approaches from other PR consultants before he plumped for Herring's outfit.
THC's celebrity division last Friday signed up Channel 5's The Wright Stuff presenter Matthew Wright, who openly admits he blundered into the affair when he accidentally named the presenter on his chat show last week.
THC has recently managed a number of high profile media events; including last month's National Television Awards - Jonsson's first public appearance since publication of her autobiography, in which her account of an alleged date rape with by an unnamed assailant was first made.
