Marketing, Thursday, 18 July 2002, 12:00am,
Cancer Research UK has unveiled a DRTV fundraising campaign through WWAV Rapp Collins entitled 'How can I tell you'. The 60-second ad features the Cat Stevens track of the same name and shows images of cancer victims performing day-to-day activities, with the captions detailing their names and age when they died. The ad asks viewers to call an 0800 number and pledge £2 a month to help Cancer Research UK gain a better understanding of the causes of cancer. The ad finishes on a positive note by showing scenes of people who successfully fought the disease. The ads will be shown on Channel 4, Channel 5 and satellite and cable TV stations. Media buying is through WWAV Rapp Collins Media.
