MMD wins smart card technology remit at Lodestar
IAN HALL, PR Week UK, Friday, 07 June 2002, 12:00am,
MMD has scooped a retained PR remit for computer technology firm Lodestar.
The remit was won in a two-way pitch that concluded last week, against Lewis PR.
Lodestar is the license-holder for UK distribution of a hardware device that protects free-standing and networked PCs against data corruption and viruses.
Isleworth-based MMD will carry out media relations work, primarily in the trade press, to raise the brand's awareness across Lodestar's target sectors in the UK, which are educational establishments, hospitals and banks.
'IT downtime can have critical consequences on organisations such as emergency services and banks,' said Lodestar technical director Richard Leigh.
PCs with Lodestar hardware installed reduce downtime by restoring a damaged PC to its original set-up by simply pressing the reset button.
MMD client services director Nicola Dobson leads a four-strong account team, which reports to Lodestar MD Michael Abrahams.
Ipswich-based Lodestar's hire of MMD is the firm's first use of external PR advice.
