DIARY: Svensational solo debut for ex-Weber Shandwick youth marketing head
PR Week UK, Friday, 19 April 2002, 12:00am,
Christine Warren, the outgoing head of Weber Shandwick's youth marketing arm, SLAM, was given a soft landing when she left last week. Her first event as a solo PR practitioner took the concept of mass appeal to a fresh dimension.
The coach would no doubt have been a huge draw (ouch) for reporters whenever it was held, but the fact he was open to questioning just two days after captain David Beckham broke his second metatarsal bone meant the press conference was heaving with eager scribes.
The client, the UK's biggest classical music distributor Naxos, could scarcely believe its luck as for a full 15 minutes the questions remained true to the subject of Sven's musical choices.
Sven proved a consummate media pro as he posed for pics with Warren at a lunch following the departure of the assembled press corps.
Weber Shandwick joint CEO David Brain this week wished his former employee the very best of luck outside the agency. On her current form, she barely needs it.
