Hepburn returns to set up City PR outfit Waughton
CHRIS SCOTT, PR Week UK, Friday, 29 March 2002, 12:00am,
Former Golin/Harris Ludgate CEO Robin Hepburn has returned to agency life with the launch of a designated financial communications agency, Waughton.
Hepburn was made redundant during the merger of G/HL's financial
practice into those of Weber Shandwick and Square Mile (PRWeek, 28
September 2001).
He is currently operating as a solo practitioner, with a 'number two' to join him after the completion of a notice period next month.
He said the agency has two unnamed clients, with another three or four prospects.
Hepburn added that the agency would not be looking for rapid growth in staff numbers. 'The aim is to start small and grow slowly,' he said. 'Clients want to work with someone of my experience and track record; by keeping the agency small they can get that at a reasonable price.'
