PUBLIC SECT0R: Scope campaign sets its sights on telecoms outfits
PR Week UK, Friday, 29 March 2002, 12:00am,
Scope is to launch a campaign to help those with disabilities to communicate better.
Cash and equipment are needed for a range of communications aids, according to Scope PRO Siobhan Sheerin.
She said: 'This could be equipment to help people use email or install telephones, or even courses. It's for anything that helps people keep in touch and make them heard.'
The campaign launches on 30 April with a media event based on BBC TV's Question Time and hosted by broadcaster John Humphreys.
Companies backing the campaign include telecoms giant Orange.
Sheerin added: 'A key message is to appeal to the social responsibility of businesses.'
The campaign is co-ordinated by the disability charity's head of fundraising, Aneesha Moreira, and was designed by brand consultancy Team Saatchi.
