Campbell Mithun merges west coast agencies

Campbell Mithun has merged with sister Interpublic Group of Companies agency Phillips Ramsey in an effort to expand its west coast presence in the US.

LONDON (Brand Republic) - Campbell Mithun has merged with sister Interpublic Group of Companies agency Phillips Ramsey in an effort to expand its west coast presence in the US.

The San Diego-based Phillips Ramsey will combine with Minneapolis-based Campbell Mithun’s Orange County office to form a $130m (£88.48m) west coast operation.

The new west coast office will carry the Campbell Mithun name.

Gary Meads, executive vice-president and general manager of Phillips Ramsey, will head up the business. His team comprises: Tony Durket, senior vice-president and creative director; Julie Ward, senior vice-president and managing director of Campbell Mithun’s Irvine office; and Joyce Koch, senior vice-president and creative director of Campbell Mithun’s Irvine office. Meads will also be jointly responsible for operational efficiencies and shared resources with Ward.

Phillips Ramsey has a staff of 50 and numbers WD-40 Company, San Diego Zoo and Omni Hotels among its clients.

In recent years, Minneapolis-based Campbell Mithun, which has billings of $1.03bn, has expanded its marketing communications capabilities and geographic reach. Campbell Mithun opened a New York creative office in 1996 and in the past two years has added Hispanic marketing, package design, corporate identity and graphic design resources through acquisitions, alliances and internally created enterprises.
