Matt Barrett, the chief executive of high-street bank Barclays, is said to be ready to begin takeover talks with Abbey National, if the current negotiations between the mortgage lender and the Bank of Scotland fail.
LONDON (Brand Republic) – Matt Barrett, the chief executive of high-street bank Barclays, is said to be ready to begin takeover talks with Abbey National, if the current negotiations between the mortgage lender and the Bank of Scotland fail.
Barclays is understood to have dropped Credit Suisse First Boston as its financial advisors and replaced them with Goldman Sachs. CSFB is adviser to the Bank of Scotland.
