Household goods giant Reckitt Benckiser has dropped City PR
incumbent Weber Shandwick Worldwide in favour of rival Financial
Dynamics.
Neither FD nor FTSE 100 firm Reckitt would comment on the appointment,
but senior industry sources confirm FD picked up the UK financial PR
brief last week.
It is believed Reckitt - the name behind household brands such as Vanish
- held an extensive pitch process before appointing FD, headed by
Charles Watson.
The financial PR brief, which is understood to include strategic PR and
results work, falls under the remit of Reckitt head of investor
relations Tom Curran.
At WSW, the Reckitt account was handled by former financial division
director Bobby Leech, who left last month to join Vodafone as head of
financial media relations (PRWeek, 19 October).
News also emerged this week that FD has been rehired to work for FTSE
100 firm Kingfisher providing personal PR and strategic advice to the
group's chief executive Sir Geoff Mulcahy.
FD previously handled the group's corporate PR account, but was replaced
by The Maitland Consultancy last week (PRWeek, 16 November).
