MegaFon, the Russian mobile phone operator, has mandated Citigate Dewe Rogerson to handle comms around its forthcoming London listing. The firm, which announced its intention to list on the London Stock Exchange last week, hopes to raise about $2bn (£1.24bn), valuing the firm at about $13bn (£8.1bn). Citigate is working on the listing from both London and Moscow. MegaFon is currently controlled by Russia's richest man Alisher Usmanov.
Intelligent Energy, the UK-based green power technology firm, has brought in Racepoint Group to handle its corporate PR and media relations. The firm, which manufactures zero-emission fuel cells, has charged the agency with supporting corporate, trade and consumer PR to build awareness of its technology.
UBS' chief comms officer Michael Willi is to step down from his role. Willi has had responsibility for the Swiss bank's corporate and brand comms since 2008, but will leave by April, according to an internal memo. His future plans were not disclosed.
Deutsche Bank has hired Sebastian Howell as head of press and media relations in the UK for its markets businesses. Howell had previously worked in corporate comms at Morgan Stanley since 2005 and has also worked at JP Morgan Chase.
