FTSE 100-listed firm Shire Pharmaceuticals Group has appointed
Jessica Mann as its first global head of corporate communications, with
a mandate to create a dedicated corporate comms team.
Her arrival follows a three-year stint at ONdigital, which she left
following the merger of the brand into ITV, which removed the need for a
separate corporate communications directorship.
Mann will be tasked with reviewing and installing a corporate
communications unit for the firm, which completed its merger with
Canadian firm BioChem Pharma in May.
She added that she is likely to work alongside the firm's current
retained agency Financial Dynamics, but will not make firm decisions on
either in-house or external hires until she has had a chance to review
operations.
