Kimberly Clark is on the verge of naming a successor to Lyn Mayes,
who this week left her post of director of EMEA corporate
communications.
According to a source at the American paper products giant - whose
brands include Andrex toilet tissue, Huggies disposable nappies and
Kleenex - a successor has been chosen and will be in the job by
December. An announcement is expected within the next two weeks.
Mayes, who has left to live in New Zealand, reported directly to KC
president Rob van der Merwe, and joined KC in 1999.
During her time at KC she developed the company's network of agencies
across the region. This included last year's appointment of Luther
Pendragon to handle issues management and agency co-ordination across
Europe (PRWeek 26 May 2000).
UK brand and corporate communications is handled by CirKle.
Luther consultant Jo Bird, who works on the KC account, said both
agencies would handle corporate communications in the UK until Mayes'
successor is in place.
