The campaign, by CHI & Partners, will feature a range of the brand’s technology, including mobile-controlled heating, smart meters, home charging points for electric cars and electricity-generating boilers.

The TV, press, digital and social-media activity will be rolled out next week using the endline ‘Homes are about to get smarter’.

It comes as British Gas seeks to expand its business into lucrative areas such as the installation of in-home technology.

The brand expects 1m customers to have smart meters installed by the end of the year.

Will Orr, marketing director at British Gas, said the campaign marked ‘the beginning of a big change, under which customers are going to interact with their technology’.
