Brightsolid, which bought the social networking site from ITV in 2010, is considering agencies to work on a two-year social media and PR brief for Friends Reunited, Genes Reunited, Find My Past and the British Newspaper Archive.

Lansons currently works for Brightsolid on its consumer and corporate retained account, of which this new brief is thought to be part.

Lansons, which also relaunched Friends Reunited in a separate project brief in April, is understood to be repitching for the new brief.

The core of the brief is to improve ‘customer retention and acquisition on a global basis’.

‘We don’t want bullshit or hyperbole, we want impact and outcomes that grow our business,’ the document states.

According to Carolynne Bull-Edwards, Brightsolid’s head of PR, the list of agencies has been finalised. Initial pitches are taking place this week and the final selection will be made on 14 August.
