Talk about turning a crisis into a (media) opportunity.
When the Outside Organisation's Tottenham Court Road building was invaded by a would-be bomber last week, CEO Alan Edwards started reporting on the incident for Sky News. Edwards said he was asked by Sky's Kay Burley to be a spot reporter. 'Dominic Mohan wondered if Sky would be assigning me to Afghanistan, as did Peter Willis of the Mirror,' he added ... Congrats to those on this year's Sunday Times Rich List, notably Matthew Freud and wife Elisabeth Murdoch, who achieved 308th place with £251m. WPP's Sir Martin Sorrell has amassed £174m, gaining him 438th place. And Brunswick's Alan Parker was at 785 with £95m - sharing the position with Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. Hopefully Parker doesn't share Ozzy's predilections for what he spends it on ... Lobbying's vocal internal critic Mark Adams has challenged BPPA chairman Peter Bingle to a fight in the courts after dubbing the latter a liar for claiming he is 'not a lobbyist'. Adams wrote on his blog: 'In the unlikely event he intends to stick to his claim, he must sue me,' warning he has 'a phalanx of political figures to contradict him'. Bingle declined to comment ... The CIPR's Jane Wilson can certainly laugh at herself. Her team gave her a copy of BBC comedy Twenty Twelve, saying she reminded them of head of brand Siobhan Sharpe, dubbed 'the most useless PR woman ever' by the Metro. Let's hope it's just a hairstyle Wilson and Sharpe have in common ...
