GE Capital, the real estate advisory firm, has hired Tom Steiner as external and corporate affairs manager, reporting to media relations director Michael Goodbody. He was previously an account director at Capital MSL, having joined from Edelman Financial in 2010.
Schneider Foreign Exchange, the independent currency broker, has called in Man Bites Dog to handle its comms in the UK. Schneider provides commercial foreign exchange services to FTSE-listed companies, financial institutions, corporates, SMEs and private individuals.
The European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association has appointed Emma Thorpe as head of comms. Thorpe previously worked as director of European comms for private equity firm The Carlyle Group before leaving last year. Since then she has worked as an EU regulatory consultant for US firm Patomak Partners.
Square 1 Consulting led comms for the AIM float of Papua Mining, a firm focused on the mining of gold and copper deposits in Papua New Guinea, which raised around £7m.
Broadgate Mainland has appointed Jayne Adair, previously at Peregrine Communications, as an account manager.
