Ogilvy PR appoints James Whatley as senior associate director for social media

Ogilvy PR has brought in James Whatley as senior associate director in its social media arm, 360° Digital Influence.

Reporting to head of digital Michael Darragh and brought in by Ogilvy PR's London branch, Whatley joins from 1000heads.

Whatley said: ‘I am very excited about joining a fantastic team, which is not only going through a period of meteoric growth, but also has the ambition to match.’

Darragh said: ‘James joins Ogilvy PR at a time of increased demand for social counsel from corporate brands. Our digital practice is growing rapidly and James’ expertise in enterprise social media strategy, wholly integrated marketing comms programmes and mobile, adds another string to Ogilvy's bow.’

360° Digital Influence is a global network of social media marketing and comms experts.

Whatley’s appointment is effective immediately and follows recent senior digital hires at Ogilvy including Eb Adeyeri from Lewis PR, Michael Cooper from Wolfstar PR, and Kristin Parrish from Ogilvy PR in Atlanta.
