Take a chill pill because it looks as though 2012 is going to be a breeze for PR professionals ... well that's if the latest survey by recruitment site CareerCast.com is anything to go by.
According to the report, PR was the seventh most stressful job last year - far less nerve-racking than 12 months earlier when it was placed second ... Certainly PR doyens CIPR CEO Jane Wilson and Grayling UK CEO Alison Clarke suggested this was the case in the green room while preparing for PRWeek's latest podcast. Clarke mimicked gulping from a champagne bottle, while both ladies called each other 'darling' and dismissed, tongue in cheek, suggestions that the recession was hitting PR. It's up to you to decide which is Eddy and Patsy ...
Last week, Manchester City launched a well-meaning social media initiative inviting fans to tweet 'inspirational team talks' to captain Vincent Kompany before the side's FA Cup clash with arch rivals Manchester United. Unfortunately, these #followthecaptain tweets may have been a little too 'inspirational' - fresh from the barnstorming team-talk, a fired-up Kompany was sent off after just 12 minutes ... Richard E. Grant has fronted a film called Reputation on Chatsworth Communications' website. However, filming had to be delayed because of the actor's mane of blonde hair, having played Michael Heseltine in The Iron Lady. Founder Nick Murray Leslie said Grant was 'good about it and returned when back to his usual brown ...'
