Ofcom, the media regulator, has announced the changes to the Channel 4 executive board, which also include Channel 4 chairman Lord Burns extending his role for a further three years, until January 2016.

Burns was appointed chairman in January last year.

The regulator has also announced the appointment of three non-executive directors: Press Association chief executive Paul Potts; MT Rainey, the co-founder of RKCR and currently non-executive chairman of Th-nk, and Josie Rourke, who takes up the role of artistic director at the Donmar Warehouse theatre at the start of 2012.

Stephen Hill, former chief executive of Betfair. leaves the Channel 4 board at the end of this month.

Also exiting, at the end of January 2012, are Lord Puttnam and Martha-Lane Fox, co-founder of Lastminute.com
