Edinburgh City Council senior media officer Gareth Jones has been moved on secondment to Hackney Council, where he will be media manager. He will take the role until September 2012 to cover maternity leave and provide additional senior media relations capacity during the Olympics.
The University of Bristol has developed its own QR code for use within a billboard promoting the university. The university chose Outdoor Advertising to promote study places using the QR code, which is based on the design of the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
London Ambulance Service held a 24-hour Tweetathon on Tuesday, in which it recorded every road accident on the service's Twitter page with the hash tag #Crash24.
It also posted live updates on the BBC website. Throughout the day, 12 journalists accompanied paramedics in cars to see first-hand how the service responds to around 80 road traffic collisions every day.
