Voluntary Sector: Unity to run SunSmart
Matt Cartmell, PR Week UK, Friday, 09 December 2011, 12:00am,
Unity has been appointed to handle a major integrated campaign for Cancer Research UK's SunSmart initiative.
The campaign, called 'R UV UGLY?', is taking place in the run-up to the Christmas party season, to address the expected increase in sunbed usage during the winter months. The charity hopes to reduce the number of young people using sunbeds and encourage them to use fake tan instead.
Cancer Research UK SunSmart manager Chris Lunn said: 'Unity matched creative ideas with solid strategic insight into the youth target audience we're looking to influence.'
The campaign, to run in England, is funded by the Department of Health.
Unity will be working with sk:n clinics to offer free UV skin assessments and will team up with a major high street retailer to embark on an experiential tour over the festive period.
