The office in Qatar’s capital Doha marks the first overseas outlet for the London-based agency.

The agency decided on Doha because the ‘region is one of the fastest growing in the world and its economic growth is defying the global downturn’.

Brazil also stated that ‘existing clients are looking to expand into new global opportunities presented to them in fast developing regions’.

Brazil’s chief executive Joshua Van Raalte will oversee the expansion in the Middle East and senior Al Jazeera presenter and correspondent Stephen Cole has been hired to work from the Doha office as consultant director.

Van Raalte said: ‘In recent years, we’ve seen current clients become very interested in learning more about the Gulf region while understanding how they could tap into the growing consumer power of such countries.

‘Previously, we have used our contacts based over there, but it made sense to expand our current footprint and look to grow in a country where PR is becoming a growing requirement for businesses and governments.’
