Healthcare: Rain to launch AS10 multivitamin in UK
Nikki Wicks, PR Week UK, Friday, 04 November 2011, 12:00am,
Rain Communications is to promote the UK launch of a multivitamin developed in partnership with US space agency NASA.
The London-based comms agency will handle the PR for US nutrition supplement firm AmeriSciences. The agency has been called in to introduce the AS10 multivitamin and antioxidant formula to the UK market.
The UK campaign will make use of research conducted by AmeriSciences in partnership with NASA and the Johnson Space Station, which formed part of the development of the AS10 product range.
AmeriSciences partnered with NASA to develop a nutritional supplement for astronauts on long-duration spaceflights. With three products in the AS10 range, the multivitamin is now available to UK consumers after proving popular in the US.
Rain Communications won the account following a competitive pitch and will report directly to AmeriSciences president and CEO Barry Cocheau.
The agency will handle the PR for the UK rollout of the AS10 product range, with an initial focus on delivering a media roundtable event to nutrition industry professionals. Activity will include product placement, tried and tested trials and news generation.
With clients including John Lewis and cosmetics firm Avon, Rain works primarily with fashion, retail, lifestyle and corporate brands.
However, Rain senior account manager Hannah Walsh, who will lead the AmeriSciences account, said the agency was increasingly looking at clients in the healthcare sector.
