PR Week UK, Friday, 28 October 2011, 12:00am,
1. A journey of 1,000 miles starts with one step.
Or in Blue Rubicon's case, 15 journeys of 40 miles were completed in 1.6 million steps. Intrepid agency staff walked for two days from Newcastle to Carlisle along Hadrian's Wall, raising more than £10,000 for two charities supporting young people with cancer. Boot-iful.
2. The team at Holyrood PR were sitting quietly at their desks earlier this month when a boiler ruptured in the property above, sending gallons of water pouring through the ceiling. So they leapt into action, placing buckets around the office and saving the electrical equipment. And you thought that you'd had a bad Monday morning.
3. Braben PR staffers were at client Advanstar's Brand Licensing Europe 2011 event last week - the biggest show of its kind in Europe. While walking around, they met some rather surprising PRWeek fans - Popeye and Olive Oyl. Who knew that the PR bible could make you grow up big and strong?
