Marie Curie Cancer Care has appointed the chief executive of Carers UK as its first director of policy and public affairs.
Imelda Redmond's arrival sees the creation of a dedicated public affairs unit. Marie Curie's previous public affairs manager, Hannah Gagen, is now at pharma firm Boehringer-Ingelheim.
Bill Clare, a former aide to senior Conservatives Liam Fox and Chris Grayling, has set up a PR and public affairs agency called If You Look At It This Way. Clare was most recently director of public affairs at defence contractor General Dynamics UK.
RSA, the insurance firm, has completed its search for a new group head of public affairs with the hire of Paulina Murphy. Murphy joined RSA this week from the role of senior public affairs manager (EU and international) at rival firm Aviva. Murphy will report to external comms director Louise Shield. RSA has also appointed Tori Henderson, senior advocate for financial services at Which?, as group public affairs manager.
Microsoft has recruited Becky Foreman as a government affairs manager. She joins from her post of associate director at Portland.
Royal Bank of Scotland Group has appointed Sumeet Desai as head of public affairs. Desai was previously a senior adviser to RBS Group.
