The Civil Service Benevolent Fund has appointed Andy James as fundraising and comms director. He previously held the same position at Diabetes UK.
The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator is considering employing PR experts to raise its profile in a bid to improve public trust and confidence in the sector.
The British Forces Broadcasting Service is working with Stuart Higgins Communications to launch the Big Salute charity auction event, which takes place this Friday. Prizes will be sold to raise money for five military charities.
Elizabeth Finn Care and the Association of Charity Officers are hosting the Shaping the Future Benevolence conference on 20 October. The free event at London Euston's Friends House will report findings of nfpSynergy's Understanding the Benevolent Sector study.
AbilityNet has announced Lastminute.com co-founder Martha Lane Fox and fantasy author Sir Terry Pratchett OBE as patrons. The national charity helps disabled adults and children use computers and the internet.
UNICEF UK has raised £352,000 since launching personal fundraising website My Fundraising on 1 April this year.
