What is it good for?

Perfect for breakfast or lunch meetings, Roast's interior has a light and airy feel with most tables affording views across Borough Market and St Paul's Cathedral. The staff know the menu inside out and are keen to help.

Signature dish?

Be prepared to be rolled back to the office after the roast chicken, beef, pork or suckling pig. Main lunch courses are plentiful and packed with flavour but the restaurant is renowned for its 'Full Borough' breakfast which features one of the best black puddings London has to offer.

Who's the boss?

Roast was founded by British Bangladeshi restaurateur Iqbal Wahhab, who also launched the hugely popular Indian restaurant, Cinnamon Club, in 2001.

Tips please

Book ahead for breakfast meetings when the restaurant is less crowded. Also, make use of the sommelier - he knows his stuff.

Breakfast ranges from £5 to £15 with lunch priced at around £20.
