Terrence Higgins Trust has launched a campaign called 'Tackling the Spread of HIV in the UK', aimed at stabilising rising rates of HIV transmission and reducing the growing financial burden on the NHS.
Action for Children has recruited Blue Peter's Helen Skelton as an ambassador for its 'Neglect' campaign. It is hoped she will help to encourage younger supporters to sign up to tackle child neglect across the UK.
Charities Aid Foundation has released figures revealing that large charities have been most affected by the recession. Their combined voluntary income fell by 10.8 per cent between 2007 and 2009, while income for medium-sized charities rose by 2.2 per cent.
Cancer Research UK brought in celebrities Ronan Keating, Jenny Frost, Jason Bradbury and Pamela Stephenson to complete an overnight marathon fundraising swim in the Irish Sea that started on the evening of 30 August. They were led by Olympic swimmer Steve Parry.
Save the Children will hold a blogging conference at its London HQ on 17 September. The event will look at how social media can be used for 'social good' and will host speakers from top media brands.
