Sally Osman: to lead Sony Europe's comms
In addition to leading the Sony Europe comms team based in Weybridge, Osman will oversee all PR functions of Sony electronics operating units in Europe.
Osman will report to president of Sony Europe Fujio Nishida and to Sony Corporation’s SVP Shiro Kambe.
Osman has mostly worked as a comms consultant for a number of multinational companies and public bodies in Europe, the US and China.
She left as BBC director of comms in 2007, where she worked with successive director generals Greg Dyke and Mark Thompson.
Osman said: ‘Sony has a compelling story to tell. It’s probably the biggest entertainment business in the world, touching millions every day through its electronics, games, movies, music and networked services. I‘m delighted to be joining the team in Europe.’
She will also be responsible for co-ordinating group-wide, pan-European PR issues, working with the company’s other business units, including Sony Pictures, Sony Music and Sony Computer Entertainment.
Nishida said: ’I am extremely happy that we have been able to attract such a highly respected communications executive with an incredible wealth of experience and knowledge.’
