The app allows users to watch videos from CNBC, including interviews with chief executives, market analysis and investor insight, while watching real-time data on either the market or individual portfolios.
The CNBC Real-Time TV app is available via internet-connected devices, including TVs, set-top boxes, Blu-ray players and home theatre systems.
Justine Powell, vice-president of distribution, EMEA at CNBC, said: "CNBC's Real-Time TV app is the latest tool in an unparalleled suite of digital products that makes the real-time data, news and analysis that investors care about, available across multiple platforms."
The app will also be available through Virgin Media's most recent set-top box, TiVo, and Cindy Rose, executive director of digital entertainment at Virgin Media, said there was a "whole host" of new apps in development.
Rose said: "Whether it's a 'duvet day' for a trader or someone keeping an eye on their personal investments, the CNBC app is a whole new way of keeping up to date with your own shares portfolio, as well as the latest stock market news, through your TV."
