Tradition, part of one of the world's top five interdealer broking firms, has appointed MHP Communications to raise the profile of its new Trad-X trading platform. Trad-X, an electronic trading platform for OTC derivatives, was launched in May 2011. Tradition is the interdealer broking arm of Compagnie Financiere Tradition, which operates in 27 countries and is listed in Switzerland.

Bankia, the largest domestic savings bank in Spain, has floated on the Madrid Stock Exchange using Kreab Gavin Anderson to provide comms support. The bank raised EUR3.1bn in the second biggest float in Europe this year.

Alpari ME DMCC, a Dubai-based trading service for foreign exchange, precious metals and other financial instruments, has called in Capital MSL to provide comms support as it grows across the Middle East. Alpari ME DMCC, part of the Alpari group of companies, was founded in 2008 to serve regional demand.

WYG, the global management consultancy firm, has chosen MHP Communications as its retained financial PR agency after the consultancy advised the firm on its capital restructuring.

Shanta Gold, the Tanzania-based gold producer, has brought in Tavistock Communications to handle its financial comms and investor relations. The company's New Luika Gold Mine is expected to start producing gold in December.

Frontier Investment Management, an asset management firm focusing on multi-asset and alternative investments, has signed Broadgate Mainland as its PR adviser. MD Roland Cross will lead the account.
