Global technology giant EDS has hired broadcast and online PR firm Bulletin International to run a European communications strategy.
Global technology giant EDS has hired broadcast and online PR firm Bulletin International to run a European communications strategy.
The account, awarded without a pitch, is understood to carry annual fees in the region of pounds 250,000. The brief was awarded to Bulletin on the basis of a referral from Rolls Royce, which is EDS' largest customer in the UK. Rolls Royce is based in Derby, a city with which EDS has close links since it sponsors the football club.
Day-to-day management of the work will be handled by account manager Romina Rosado and overseen by Bulletin MD Lucy Tilbury. The team reports to EDS PR director for EMEA, Luca Pescarmona.
The remit includes content management - producing materials sought by broadcast and online media - for EDS' PR work in nine European markets. As well as the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and The Netherlands, Bulletin considers 'pan-European' a further market since some media outlets - notably satellite broadcasters - reach audiences in more than one country.
The news of Bulletin's European appointment comes just weeks after EDS announced it was reviewing its UK PR efforts.
It is understood to be staging pitches for two separate PR briefs, covering technology and public affairs. Last month the company appointed Catherine Greenwood from BT's international PR unit as marketing, communications and government affairs director (PRWeek, 24 November).
EDS is a top 5 global technology company, making sales last year of more than pounds 12bn.
