BlindAid has called in London-based Black Sheep PR to provide support for its relaunch.
The charity, formerly known as the Metropolitan Society for the Blind, is using Black Sheep to help it gain the recognition it needs to increase its income and expand services for those who most need BlindAid's help.
Survival International has brought in Hollywood actress Gillian Anderson as an ambassador. She recently narrated a film about a tribe in the Brazilian Amazon. Anderson joins existing ambassadors Quentin Blake and Julie Christie.
Media Trust and advertising agency JWT London have launched Campaigns for Good, giving UK charities the chance to win expert help and advice for a comms campaign to run in 2011. The winner will receive a planning session to help build their brand strategy and develop 'starter for ten' campaign ideas.
YouthNet has brought in ex-EastEnders and Gavin & Stacey actor Larry Lamb to support its work by becoming a charity 'Dad' on TheSite.org, its online guide to life for 16- to 25-year-olds. Interviewed by his son, TalkSport presenter George Lamb, Larry will feature in an interview about the realities of fatherhood and take part in live online chats.
