The capital's newly formed marketing agency, London & Partners, has appointed Martine Ainsworth-Wells as director of marketing and communications as part of its new executive line-up.
London & Partners has placed Ainsworth-Wells at the head of its marketing arm, as the agency gears up to promote London in the run up to the Olympics.
London & Partners was launched on 1 April by Mayor of London Boris Johnson, combining the bodies ThinkLondon, VisitLondon and StudyLondon in to one organisation.
Ainsworth-Wells was the marketing director at VisitLondon from 2004 until November last year, when she was promoted to director of marketing and communications at the body with responsibility for communications, consumer PR, corporate and public affairs.
Danny Lopez, group director for business support and promotion at the London Development Agency (LDA), will continue to act as the interim chief executive for the promotional agency, while interviews are being held for the position.
Alongside Ainsworth-Wells, Andrew Cooke has been appointed as the chief operating officer, Tracy Halliwell as the new director of business tourism and major events, and Paul Bromelow as sales director (foreign direct investment).
Two interim executive positions have also been announced - Oliver Leeds as interim commercial director and Julie Chappell as acting head of digital.
The organisation is a not-for-profit public-private partnership that is part funded by commercial partnerships and part funded by the Mayor of London. The mayor's office will provide £14 million in funding each year for the next four years.
