Global delivery firm FedEx has reappointed Ketchum Pleon to handle PR across EMEA, but the agency is understood to have lost its UK part of the brief.

The agency had repitched its EMEA and UK accounts together last month.

Ketchum Pleon will continue as the lead strategic agency for FedEx's EMEA-pan-regional business, co-ordinating FedEx's various agencies across the region.

This work will involve Ketchum's teams in the UK and Brussels, focusing on strategic comms, media relations and crisis comms.

The agency was also incumbent on FedEx's UK and Ireland brief, which it is thought to have repitched for unsuccessfully. The UK and Ireland account is a strategic comms brief with a focus on tactical execution and involves running a press office function.

Nira Gale, comms adviser, FedEx Express Europe, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent & Africa, confirmed Ketchum's reappointment.

She said the result of the UK and Ireland pitch had not yet been decided but added that the firm expected to have an agency in place by 1 June.

Meanwhile, Marc Drechsler, the co-founder of Ketchum's financial unit, Pleon Financial, has relocated from Dusseldorf to New York.
