Accountancy firm Arthur Andersen is looking for a new head of
public relations, following the departure of Tim Prizeman, who has left
to set up his own public relations agency Kelso Consulting.
Prizeman’s replacement will be in charge of a team of six, including two
events personnel. Arthur Andersen is the accountancy half of Andersen
Worldwide - the other separate business being Andersen Consulting, which
has its own public relations department.
The search for a replacement is being led by marketing director Colin
Bayley, who along with research manager Nick Hayward and the head of
public relations, answers to Arthur Andersen partner Richard
Simmons.
Bayley said: ’We are looking for someone with very wide PR skills to
enable them to make a significant contribution to the organisation.’
Prizeman’s decision to strike out on his own comes after
two-and-a-half-years in the top PR job at Arthur Andersen. He was the
firm’s first dedicated public relations manager.
Prizeman’s previous experience included public relations work for fellow
chartered accountants Deloitte and Touche and BDO Binder Hamlyn.
Kelso Consulting, which opened its doors for business this week, has yet
to sign up its first client. But Prizeman said that he is currently
talking to a number of major companie about their public relations.
