3 Feb: Red Nose Day 2011 press launch. The Inbetweeners Rude Road Trip, in which characters from the popular TV show visit 50 of the rudest place names in the UK in 50 hours, goes on sale digitally to mark the launch of this year's fundraising drive.
3 Feb: Chinese New Year. The lunar event for the year of the Rabbit.
4 Feb: RBS 6 Nations begins Cardiff, Wales. The 2011 6 Nations begins with Wales vs England at Cardiff. This is the first time the rugby tournament has begun with a Friday night match.
7 Feb: Laurence Olivier Award nominations announced. The nominations for the prestigious theatre awards, to be held on 13 March at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, are announced.
9 Feb: Daycare Trust's Childcare Costs Survey. Charity the Daycare Trust publishes its annual childcare costs survey looking at the issue of cost and availability of childcare in Britain.
10 Feb: Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York. The Autumn/Winter 2011 Fashion Week kicks off, with Victoria Beckham scheduled to show her new collection on 13 Feb.
11-12 Feb: Conservative Party Spring Forum Warwickshire. Confirmed speakers include Communities and Local Government Secretary Eric Pickles and party co-chair Baroness Warsi.
