With the party season in full swing, supermarkets compete to offer the best party food while Chanel splashes out on a budget-busting run of three full-page ads in The Daily Telegraph.

Chanel supports its television campaign starring French actress Audrey Tautou with a run of three full-page ads in The Daily Telegraph. The press ads feature scenes from the TV commercial, which were among the 30-second spots booked in last weekend's final of The X Factor.

Asda advertises "extra special" party food, while Morrisons pictures products it considers "perfect for parties" and offers half-price Scottish salmon.

Scarlett Johansson appears twice in The Times this morning, first in a Dolce & Gabbana ad and then uncorking champagne in a full-page Moet ad just two pages later.

Littlewoods.com offers a "buy now, pay in 2012" offer on gifts, aiming to lighten the financial strain on shoppers this Christmas.

Ikea promises "one trip, all the trimmings", in its creative advertising kitchen essentials including wine glasses, cutlery and candles in The Daily Express.

Nespresso places two consecutive full-page ads in The Times featuring its coffee experts instead of George Clooney - although the brand reassures readers Clooney will still appear in further campaigns.
