CNBC launches real-time financial news iPad app

CNBC, the business and financial news channel, has released a free iPad app to allow City workers to keep up to date with their portfolios on the go and watch CNBC video-on-demand.
The CNBC real-time app, available from the Apple app store in the US and UK, gives users access to live stock quotes from the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ, during and after market hours.
Users can watch CNBC video clips on the iPad, including exclusive interviews and market updates via CNBC video-on-demand. News alerts from CNBC's global editorial team are also available on the app.
CNBC launched a free iPhone app offering real-time market data in October 2009.
In June, CNBC rolled out a pan-European ad campaign to boost brand awareness in the region and attract new audiences. The activity, including TV, print and online was developed in-house and booked through MPG.
