Roadchef is to increase staff numbers by 20% in multi-million pound investment drive.
The motorway service operator announced the creation of over 400 jobs as part of a multi-million pound investment programme to regenerate its entire estate over the next five years.
The next two years will see £12 million spent on overhauling the catering facilities at 10 key sites with further upgrades at the remaining service areas set to take place thereafter.Roadchef currently employs 2,000 members of staff at its 19 motorway service areas across the UK. It is hoped the redevelopment and increase of headcount will significantly increase turnover and drive operational profits upwards of 13% in the next five years.
Simon Turl (pictured), CEO of Roadchef, said: "This investment is the cornerstone of our business improvement plan which has been under development for the past two years. Thankfully, the sector has ridden the recession well, meaning we are now in a good position to realise our ambitions of taking Roadchef to the next level. By regenerating and strengthening our branded and in-house portfolio, we strongly believe we will redefine the face of motorway catering."
